The Hollows Foundation does much to alleviate human suffering, some of my best friends are atheists, and I used to be one. I'm currently reading Andre Comte-Sponville's The Book of Atheist Spirituality. He asks: "Atheists have as much spirit as everyone else. Why would they be less interested in spiritual life?" And I wholly endorse his sentiments. He appeals for 'tolerance' and I do too. And, he adds: "Nothing could be worse than letting ourselves be deadlocked into a confrontation between fanaticism and nihilism. Far better to combat both without either conflating them or falling into their respective traps."
Not all Christians feel this way. Please don't lump us all in the same basket.
